Pillar to Start Construction of the Second Phase of the Mežciema Houses Project
Continuing the development of energy-efficient housing in Riga, real estate developer Pillar plans to start construction of the second phase of the Mežciema mājas project this spring. The second phase of Mežciema mājas will be Pillar’s fifth A+ class energy-efficient apartment building project in Riga.
The first phase of the Pillar Mežciema mājas project was completed in September 2023. Its quality and high standards were appreciated not only by buyers but also by industry professionals—the project won 1st place in the "Best Building of the Year in Latvia 2023" competition in the Residential New Construction category.
Considering the high interest and demand for energy-efficient homes in various neighborhoods of Riga, Pillar plans to start construction of the second phase of the Mežciema mājas project this spring. The project will consist of a single 10-story building with 78 apartments. The building will offer two-, three-, and four-room apartments with full interior finishes, ranging from 45 to 88 square meters. Each apartment will have a separate utility room for convenient storage and a balcony or terrace. Indoor air quality will be ensured by an individual premium-class ventilation system with heat recovery. An additional benefit for clients will be the option to install a personal air conditioner in the apartment.
With a focus on an aesthetic and safe environment, the courtyard will be not only lushly landscaped but will also include a children’s playground for varied outdoor activities for children of different age groups. For residents’ convenience, the area will feature a large parking lot for apartment owners, as well as spaces with electric vehicle charging points. Unlike other new Pillar apartment projects, this one will also offer individual storage rooms on the first floor, covered parking spaces (including electric vehicle charging points), a secure bicycle parking area in the courtyard, and a garden gazebo for relaxation, conversations, and peaceful moments close to nature.
The total investment in the project is planned to be just under 10 million euros.
So far, apartment buildings have been constructed in Mežciems, Dārzciems, and Dreiliņi, and now the first Pillar apartment project in Pārdaugava is under development—the Ilģuciema mājas at 27 Spilves Street.
