Pillar Living Projects Receive High Recognition in the “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia 2026” Competition

On 17 September, the award ceremony for the winners of the “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia 2026” competition, organised by the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia, took place. Two multi-apartment residential projects developed by Pillar Living received high recognition. Pillar Mežciema mājas at 47a S. Eizenšteina Street took 2nd place, while Pillar Dreiliņu priedes at 1 Ēvalda Valtera Street took 3rd place.
The recognition received confirms Pillar Living’s approach to developing new homes – creating high-quality, energy-efficient and thoughtfully designed buildings where not only architecture and apartment layouts are important, but also the efficient use of resources and sustainability. “Thoughtful technical solutions help reduce a building’s energy consumption and significantly lower maintenance costs, which our clients also feel and appreciate in their everyday lives. Pillar projects achieve a high A+ level of energy efficiency, which means genuinely low heating costs even during the coldest winter months. For example, at the beginning of this year, when many households were unpleasantly surprised by high heating bills, our clients in the new Mežciema mājas, Dreiliņu priedes and Dārzciema liepas projects were able to enjoy the benefits of energy-efficient buildings – the average heating bill for a three-room apartment in January did not exceed EUR 55,” said Roberts Meiers, Member of the Management Board of Pillar Living.
Pillar Living continues to develop residential projects in various neighbourhoods of Riga. Alongside the projects already completed, construction of the Iļģuciema mājas project at 27/29 Spilves Street is currently underway, construction of the second phase of the Mežciema mājas project has just begun, and a new project is also planned at 10 Zentas Mauriņas Street in Purvciems.
The “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia” competition has been organised for the 15th year by the Ministry of Economics in cooperation with the Ministry of Climate and Energy and the Latvian Association of Civil Engineers. Its aim is to promote good practices in building energy efficiency and sustainability and to highlight high-quality projects implemented in Latvia.
