Pillar Plans to Launch Construction of New Energy-Efficient Residential Complex in Pārdaugava
Continuing the development of energy-efficient residential buildings in Riga, property developer Pillar has begun work on its first multi-apartment housing project in Pārdaugava. Iļģuciema mājas will become the fourth Pillar residential complex in Riga to meet A+ energy efficiency standards.
The new project is located in Iļģuciems, at 27 Spilves Street. It comprises two seven-storey buildings, each with 55 apartments. The buildings will offer two-, three-, and four-room apartments with full interior finishes, ranging from 47 to 86 square metres in size. Each apartment will include a separate utility room for convenient storage, as well as a balcony or terrace. An individual ventilation system with heat recovery will ensure high air quality, and there will also be an option for installing individual air conditioners — another important upgrade for the residents’ comfort.
With a focus on both aesthetics and environmental safety, the project’s courtyard will be richly landscaped and will feature a children’s playground to encourage outdoor leisure. For residents’ convenience, the development will include a car park for apartment owners, along with parking spaces equipped with electric vehicle charging stations.
The ground floor of each building will offer a lockable common storage area for strollers and bicycles. Additionally, a secure, covered canopy for bicycles will be built on the premises. Elevators will be installed in the buildings to ensure ease of access.
Several nurseries and schools are located nearby, simplifying daily route planning for families with children.
The project is expected to be completed by autumn 2026, with the first residents receiving keys to their new homes by the end of that year. The total planned investment in the project is just under €13 million.
So far, Pillar has built new multi-apartment buildings in the Mežciems, Dārzciems, and Dreiliņi neighbourhoods.
